About Me

Ellen Whitfield

My name is Ellen Whitfield and I am a fully qualified counsellor offering an integrative approach to counselling within an environment which is caring, friendly and confidential.

As well as my private practice, I have a part time role alongside, I am Clinical Lead for Outreach Cumbria, the main service provider for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans support, advice and engagement in Cumbria. I also volunteered at the Eden Valley Hospice as part of the bereavement support team.

Qualifications

I hold a BSc (Hons) degree in Psychology and a HE Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic counselling.

I adhere to the ethical framework of the BACP, a copy can be found at www.bacp.co.uk

I have full personal indemnity and public liability insurance.

I am a member of the National Counselling Society and BACP.

Why Garnet?

Garnet, the birthstone for January is a stone of regeneration and stability. It is said to inspire contemplation and truthfulness – hence the name.
