July 2022 News Update Part 1
Jack and Bertie both travelled to Newton Rigg Equestrian Centre to take part in a Horse Agility Session run by South Lakes Horsemanship.
Horse Agility is an equestrian discipline and internationally competitive sport in which horse and handler, both on foot, navigate a course of obstacles while focusing on clear communication and positive horsemanship. Horse Agility s about communication, not control and fosters improved confidence and healthy emotional interactions between horse and handler.
Both Jack and Bertie were fantastic. Bertie took part in the competition with Ellen and Jack was partnered by Jill. Bertie and Ellen came 4th with 90 points. Jack and Jill were incredible and came 2nd with 96 points.
We had a fabulous afternoon, gaining experience and look forward to going again. Some of the obstacles which we came across will be incorporated into our Equine Facilitated Therapy work.

Ellen went to Somerset to Horse Haven UK to train further in Equine Facilitated Therapy.
